畠中整骨院院長 畠中健でございます。
さて、一昨日の高段者大会で、和歌山県の先生から「健心館の活動、もっとやらなアカンよ」とありがたいお声を頂きました。
主旨としては、やはり柔道人口の減少への危機感と、当館が過去46年の歴史の中で、週2回の練習で近畿・県優勝など多くの優秀な選手を育成してきた実績をご評価いただいてのことでした。
確かに、「こうすれば強くなる」というノウハウは私の身体に染み付いています。
しかし、柔道は「教育」です。競技力を上げたい子どもさんと、教育として柔道を学ぶ子どもさんは分けて考え、環境を整える必要があると私は考えています。それが実現できるのが、当館の110畳の道場です。
名誉館長以下、先生方の指導方針が浸透したおかげか、当館のOB・OGは、医師、弁護士、警察官、学校の先生、IT社長など、各方面で立派な社会人として活躍しております。
さらに、過去の門下生から道を踏み外すような人物が一人も出ていないこと。これこそが、当館の「柔道教育」の最大の成果であると自負しております。
現在、私は整骨院の患者様への責任もあり、私が団体活動のすべてを背負って土日も無休で稼働することは、私自身のワークライフバランス(プライベートや家族との大切な時間)を考えても現実的ではありません。
だからこそ、前からお伝えしている通り、健心館館長という立場を継いで頂ける若い先生がおられたら、ぜひお願いしたいと考えております。
その上で、私は相談役というスタンスで今まで培ってきたノウハウをお伝えし、練習や試合にも適時参加しサポートしていくのが理想です。
中学クラブチーム移行なども見据えると、多様性のあるクラス編成(幼稚園、小学校、中学校、高校、大学、社会人、楽しむ柔道クラスなど)と、それを支える若い指導者の先生方が不可欠かと思います。
一方、現在の私が無理なく全力でできうることは、すでに稼働中の「パーソナルキッズ柔道(マンツーマン指導)」と、現在求人を出して進めている「海外の観光客の方向けの柔道体験事業」です。

I am Takeshi Hatakenaka director of Hatankenaka Osteopathic Clinic.
Well, at the high-ranking practitioners’ tournament the day before yesterday, a sensei from Wakayama Prefecture kindly told me, “You need to do more with Kenshinkan’s activities.”
The gist of his comment was a sense of urgency regarding the declining number of judo practitioners, coupled with his appreciation for our track record over the past 46 years—during which we have trained many outstanding athletes, including Kinki and prefectural champions, through just two practice sessions a week.
It is true that the know-how of “how to become stronger” is deeply ingrained in me.
However, judo is “education.” I believe we must distinguish between children who want to improve their competitive skills and those who learn judo as a form of education, and create an environment tailored to each group. Our 110-tatami-mat dojo is the ideal space to make this a reality.
Perhaps thanks to the teaching philosophy instilled by our Honorary Director and the other instructors, our alumni are thriving as distinguished professionals in various fields, including doctors, lawyers, police officers, school teachers, and IT company presidents.
Furthermore, not a single former student has ever strayed from the right path. I take great pride in this as the greatest achievement of our dojo’s “judo education.”
Currently, I have responsibilities toward the patients at my osteopathic clinic. Given my own work-life balance—and the importance of spending quality time with my family—it is simply not realistic for me to shoulder the entire burden of the dojo’s operations, working without a break even on weekends.
That is precisely why, as I have mentioned before, I would very much like to find a young instructor who can take over the position of Kenshinkan Director.
Ideally, I would take on the role of an advisor, passing on the expertise I have cultivated over the years, and participating in practices and matches as needed to provide support.
Looking ahead to the transition to junior high school club teams, I believe it is essential to have diverse class structures (kindergarten, elementary school, junior high school, high school, university, adult, and recreational judo classes) supported by young instructors.
Meanwhile, the areas where I can currently give my all without straining myself are the “Personal Kids Judo” program (one-on-one instruction), which is already up and running, and the “Judo Experience Program for Overseas Tourists,” for which we are currently recruiting staff.
